When it comes to beer in Montpeller you have a lot of choices.
Most of those choices suck. But you should know what you can get.
Lager. Probably your best bet. It’s what Americans call “beer.” Usually you’ll get a 1664. Sometimes a Carlesberg. Rarely a Grolsch.
Monaco. Beer with 7-Up and grenedine syrup mixed in. For those who want to feel like they are eating candy while they drink.
Peche. Same as a Monaco but with peach syrup instead of grenedine.
Panache same as a Monaco and a Peche but without any syrup.
Picon. Lager with high alcoholic syrup poured in. Tastes like shit but will get you drunk in a hurry.
Brune. A darker beer. Fine if you like darker beer. Not for me but I can at least understand why people order it.
Blanche. Beer for people who hate beer. Tastes more like a wine. They actually put a lemon in your glass if you can believe that shit.
IPA. Tastes like grass several horses have pissed on. Only seems to be drunk by pretentious dudes under 30. They will then have long discussions about the undertones in the IPA. Avoid these dudes like the plague.
Stout. Usually Guinness. Very low alcohold content but if Stout is what you want you know who you are.
