So they've closed all the bars in Paris and Marseilles.
But restaurants and bistros that serve food as well as alcohol can stay open.
Since this is clearly coming to Montpellier soon, what does it mean?
99% of cafes already sell some sort of food. Anyone that doesn’t already can certainly buy a microwave in the next week and start selling some.
In New York where you now have to order food with a drink restaurants are charging people a quarter for a chicken wing with each drink.
So what is the point of all of this?
I can’t think of a single bar or cafe that would have to close.
Why are they doing this?
As I understand it, the rule in NY is to keep people from milling about. You're also not supposed to walk up to the bar and order. Ordering "substantial' food is to keep people at their socially-distanced tables. Apparently "Cuomo Chips" were a thing at one bar. The chips themselves? Not compliant. Add salsa? Compliant.
